OTC Welcomes Lisa Meehan, Dean for Academic Affairs – Health Sciences

Ogeechee Technical College is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Meehan as Dean for Academic Affairs – Health Sciences. Meehan is an accomplished higher education administrator, educator, and funeral service professional with more than two decades of leadership experience in academic affairs, health sciences education, accreditation, workforce development, and funeral service education.
“I joined Ogeechee Technical College with great enthusiasm for transforming lives through education and workforce development,” said Meehan. “I am passionate about building strong partnerships with healthcare providers, supporting faculty excellence, and creating innovative pathways that prepare students to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare workforce.”
Prior to joining Ogeechee Technical College, Lisa served as Academic Dean and Program Director at the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service, overseeing academic operations, faculty recruitment and development, curriculum management, accreditation compliance, student retention initiatives, and institutional partnerships across Pierce Mortuary Colleges. She also served as Dean of Instruction for Health Sciences and Associate Dean of Funeral Service at Lake Washington Institute of Technology.
“More than anything I am excited to serve the students, faculty, and communities of Southeast Georgia and contribute to the continued growth and success of the college,” added Meehan.
Meehan holds a Master of Education in Instructional Design and Technology from West Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in Funeral Service from the University of Central Oklahoma. She is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP), and a Certified Mental Health First Aid Responder.
Outside of her professional roles, Meehan enjoys spending time with her three children, Blake, Sara, and Hana, and her beloved French Bulldog, Stevie. An avid golfer, she values opportunities to be outdoors, connect with friends and colleagues, and maintain a healthy balance between professional leadership and family life.
