Ogeechee Technical College was voted as having the “Best Instructor,” Yvonne Jenkins, and “Best Driving School” by the readers of the Statesboro Herald for the 2025 Best of the Boro contest.

This is the sixth year in a row that an instructor from Ogeechee Technical College has won the Best of the Boro “Best Instructor” category. Jenkins, who serves as OTC’s Dental Assisting Program Director, has been an instructor at OTC for over 24 years. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Medical College of Georgia and has over 30 years of experience in the dental field, both in private practice and as an educator. Jenkins is a Certified Dental Assistant and a Registered Dental Hygienist.

“There are many dedicated college instructors in our area, and I have the privilege of working alongside some of the very best. Knowing that makes being recognized once again as the Best of the Boro Reader’s Favorite College Instructor an incredible honor,” said Jenkins.

As for the driving school at Ogeechee Technical College, this is the seventh year in a row that the school has earned the top vote in the Best of the Boro contest.

“We are honored to be recognized as the best driving school in this area for the seventh year in a row,” said Bob Olliff, Director for Continuing Education. “The ability to drive is something many of us take for granted, but sitting beside a new driver reminds you just how empowering it can be. Helping someone build the confidence to navigate our roads safely is both a privilege and a responsibility.”
