Over 40 Employers Present for OTC Career & Resource Fair

Ogeechee Technical College hosted more than 40 employers and community resource organizations at its annual Career & Resource Fair on April 1 in the Jack Hill Building in Statesboro.
Attendees included members of the general public, local high school students, and a contingent of Ogeechee Tech students representing several academic programs across the college.
“It’s important that members of our community attend these events,” said Tiffany Williams, director of Career and Student Services at Ogeechee Tech. “Not only is it an opportunity to connect with potential employers, but it also allows employers to network with one another, maximizing a candidate’s job-seeking potential.”
In academic year 2024, Ogeechee Technical College reported a 97% placement rate for graduates employed in their field or a related field, or continuing their education. This success is due in large part to efforts led by Williams, who uses a variety of strategies to help students secure employment if they do not already have a position lined up before graduation.
“Many of our faculty and staff have connections with employers in our area, and we also utilize a software platform called Handshake that allows us to directly connect our graduates with available jobs in the region,” Williams said.
One of the benefits for Ogeechee Tech students attending the fair is the opportunity to receive professional headshots from the college’s PR and Marketing Department, which can be used for recruiting profiles or LinkedIn accounts.
