Owner of The Bees’ Knees visits Ogeechee Tech

Eddie DiNello, a local beekeeper and owner of The Bees’ Knees, was recently invited to speak at the Ogeechee Tech Student Affairs monthly meeting.
DiNello, who started bee-keeping as a hobby back in 2016, shared with the OTC staff the pivotal role that bees play in agribusiness. He also spent some time answering questions and discussing many of the misconceptions the general public has about bees.
“Eddie really helped our department understand how necessary bees are for pollination and the success of agriculture in the region, and how we can support our community by being conscious of the chemicals we use and the flowers that we plant,” said Molly Bickerton, Director of Admissions.
Learning from local business owners like DiNello is just one of the many ways that the division of Student Affairs at OTC models active citizenship. In just a few short years DiNello has grown his family business to over 50 hives and hopes to one day pass it down to his children, Michael, Murray, Braylen, and EJ.
