Eleven senior Radiologic Technology students at Ogeechee Technical College were honored on April 24, 2025, during the program’s annual pinning ceremony, held in the Joseph E. Kennedy Auditorium.
Dr. Anthony Berrios, Vice President for Academic Affairs, welcomed the students, along with their families, friends, and clinical staff in attendance.
The seniors selected their recently retired Program Director, Jan Martin, as the keynote speaker. Martin applauded the students for their hard work and perseverance throughout the program.
“This pinning ceremony marks 30 years of dedication, dreams, and the unwavering spirit of our students and faculty,” said Martin. “It’s especially meaningful because our very first pinning ceremony in 1995 coincided with the 100-year anniversary of the discovery of x-rays. Hold on to your spirit and passion—because you are the best of the best.”
Martin encouraged the graduates to advocate for the profession and reminded them that “OTC greatness is in your DNA.”
As part of the ceremony, Amanda Dyches, R.T.(R), was named Clinical Preceptor of the Year. Dyches, a graduate of the program, currently works at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
Kassie Jones, R.T.(R), from Statesboro Imaging Center, was recognized as Radiographer of the Year. Hadalee Crockett received the JRCERT Award for Academic Excellence.
Victoria Mock was named Student Radiographer of the Year, an honor selected by the program’s clinical education partners.
Mock was pinned by her mother, Robyn Mock, a 1998 graduate of the program—making Victoria the program’s third second-generation student. Another special moment came when Kaitlyn Richardson was pinned by her mother, Michelle Johnson, a registered radiographer with Chatham Orthopedics in Savannah and a Clinical Preceptor for the program.
“The pinning ceremony marks a significant milestone in the lives of our graduates, symbolizing their dedication, perseverance, and transition into professional practice,” said instructor Matt Dunn. “As these students step into their careers as registered radiographers, they carry forward a tradition of excellence, compassion, and commitment to quality patient care.”
