Posted on Oct 08, 2018 at 14:34 PM

The Ogeechee Technical College Foundation recently held its annual scholarship luncheon in the Oak Room of the Natural Resources Building at the College. Thirty- five students were recognized at the banquet for their academic achievement. Benefactors, students, faculty, scholarship committee members, and guests of the students attended the event.

Russell Rosengart, President of the Ogeechee Technical College Foundation, welcomed the guests and Dr. Bill Perry gave the invocation. Barry Turner, Vice President for College Advancement recognized each student and presented him or her with a certificate.

Shadonasty Palmer, an Early Childhood Care and Education student at the College and scholarship recipient was the guest speaker. She said, “Letting your upbringing dictate your destiny hinders you and ultimately keeps you stagnant leaving barely any room for growth. I have accepted who I am completely, and by knowing that, my opportunities are limitless. I continue to remain passionate and intentional, reminding myself of what is to come if I stay dedicated to the process. Receiving scholarships has contributed greatly towards helping me fund my education, and now I am able to immerse myself fully into my educational goals and future career aspirations. Because of Ogeechee Technical College, I can go anywhere from here!”
