Veterinary Technology Attends Conference

Ogeechee Technical College Veterinary Technology faculty, students, and Vet Tech’s latest furry addition, Amazing Baylee Grace, enjoyed networking and learning activities at the annual VMX, Veterinary Meeting and Expo conference, recently held in Orlando. Billie Walker, Veterinary Technology instructor said, “It was fantastic as always. OTC made a name for themselves nationwide and Baylee was a huge hit!” The students and Baylee met and were photographed with Daytime Emmy Winner, Brandon McMillan, from CBS’s Lucy Dog show and Dr. Andy Roark, internationally renowned veterinary speaker known for his support as a veterinary technician advocate. Baylee also made an appearance on stage with the band Little Big Town. Walker said, “After the stage appearance, we were stopped by so many people who wanted to pet the famous puppy and we were able to tell our OTC Vet Tech story. It was totally amazing.” Walker said the conference gives students opportunities to be part of insightful and innovative approaches to their chose field. “It is a privilege and an honor to teach them the ropes at such an awesome conference where they can stay plugged in for their lifelong learning.” Pictured are scenes from the conference.
