Graduation Information

Graduation Requirements
To be eligible for graduation, a candidate MUST meet all of the following requirements (Deadline to apply for the 2026 graduation ceremony and pay the $40 graduation fee was April 1, 2026) :
- Complete a Graduation Application Etrieve form by the mid-term of his/her final term
- Achieve regular admission status
- Complete all course and credit hours required as prescribed in the state standards and/or outlined by each department
- Have a program (graduation) GPA of 2.0
- Complete at least 25% of total credit hours at Ogeechee Technical College
- Satisfy all financial obligations to the college
Graduation with Honors
A President's List Graduate is one who completes his/her program of study with a graduation GPA of 4.0. An Honor List Graduate is one who completes his/her program of study with a graduation GPA of 3.5 or higher. All spring graduates' President's List or Honor List GPA is based on the Fall semester program GPA
Commencement Information
We are committed to celebrating the accomplishments of our many talented and deserving students.
2026 Graduation will be on May 14th at the Hanner Fieldhouse at 7:00 p.m. Tickets will be required for this year's ceremony. Graduates can access their tickets when they register for the ceremony.
5 Things for Graduates to Know About Graduation Day
1. Graduation Rehearsal – Mandatory
Time: 2:00 PM
Location: Hanner Fieldhouse – Graduate Entrance
• All graduates must attend rehearsal.
• Only graduates are allowed in the building during rehearsal. Families are welcome when doors open at 6:00 PM.
2. Graduation Line-Up
Time: 5:30 PM
Location: Hanner Fieldhouse – Graduate Entrance
• Graduates must arrive on time and enter through the Graduate Entrance.
• Guests are not permitted at the Graduate Entrance during lineup.
3. Dress Code & Footwear
• Wear comfortable shoes that are black or dark in color – you'll be on your feet a lot!
• Your attire should be appropriate and professional under your gown.
4. Participation Requirements
• You must be seated on the graduation floor to walk with the class.
• Children are not allowed in the lineup area or on the graduation floor.
5. Special Accommodations
• If you need accommodations due to a disability, contact the Accessibility and Assessment Coordinator at 912-486-7211 by May 12th.

Important Reminders for Guests – Graduation Day
Location: Hanner Fieldhouse – 590 Herty Drive – Statesboro, GA 30458
Doors Open: 6:00 PM
Ceremony Begins: 7:00 PM
Entry Information:
• All guests must enter through the front doors of Hanner Fieldhouse.
• Tickets are required for entry.
• Everyone over the age of 1 must present a ticket.
• Plan to arrive early and be seated before the ceremony starts.
• Seating is first come, first served.
Handicap Seating:
• Handicap accessible seating is limited.
• Only one additional guest is permitted in the designated handicap seating area.
No Re-Entry Policy:
• Once you exit, you may not re-enter the building.
Prohibited Items:
Please help ensure a smooth and respectful ceremony by not bringing the following:
• Strollers
• Umbrellas
• Alcoholic beverages
• Weapons of any kind
• Balloons, confetti, or poppers of any kind
• Large cakes, cupcakes, or similar items
Clear Bag Policy

Diplomas
Once all awards have been confirmed, students will receive their degree, diploma, or certificate six to eight weeks after the end of the term and these will be sent first to the student's OTC email electronically and then mailed.
