The Student Leadership Council at Ogeechee Technical College recently partnered with the American Red Cross of Southeast and Coastal Georgia to hold the third blood drive of 2023 on OTC’s campus.
The Red Cross set up in the Oak Room of the Jack Hill Building from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1 and collected 15 units of blood.
“We are so grateful for every donor. One unit can save up to three lives. We are proud to support our community and be a part of the impact that the Red Cross makes every day,” said Beckie Snyder, Administrative Assistant for AVPSA.
In addition to the students from OTC’s Student Leadership Council were student volunteers from the SCNAVATA, Fish & Wildlife, NTHS, FBLA, ECCE, and Student Veterans.
To date, OTC has hosted a total of 52 drives, collected 1695 units, and had 1979 total donors.
Ogeechee on the Go is the name of Ogeechee Technical College’s community service initiative. OTC students and employees routinely participate in projects designed to support worthwhile causes within the community.
