Jonathan McCollar, Mayor of the City of Statesboro, has officially proclaimed the third week of September, every year, as Surgical Technology Week in recognition of National Surgical Technologist Week.

This year’s Surgical Technology Week will be celebrated September 15-21, 2019. In Mayor McCollar’s official proclamation he asks fellow citizens to acknowledge “the important role of surgical technologists in the care and recovery of their patients. We honor these men and women whose diligence and professionalism keep the residents of our City safe and healthy.”

Ogeechee Technical College’s Surgical Technology Program will host events throughout the week to celebrate its students, faculty, and staff. The week will be highlighted by an event in the Joseph E. Kennedy building lobby on Wednesday to showcase their program.
