FITLIFE smoothiesYesterday, FITLIFE co-chairs Beckie Snyder and Tonya Collins made and served nearly 50 smoothies to OTC faculty and staff in the JEK lobby.

“Many of us here at OTC spend a significant portion of our day sitting behind a desk,” said Collins. “Helping people get on their feet and exercise is one aspect of what we aim to do in FITLIFE, but it’s also about helping others realize what they put in their bodies every day is just as important.”

FITLIFE (Future is Today – Lifestyle Improvement for Employee) exists to encourage OTC faculty and staff to engage in healthy behaviors that will result in healthier, happier, and more productive employees. Activities and programming provided by FITLIFE are meant to target and improve emotional, environmental, physical, financial, intellectual, social, and spiritual wellness.

“A happy and healthy staff is what we strive for in our FITLIFE programming,” said Snyder. “Not only that, but full-time employee participants are eligible for several benefits including an incentives program, use of the FITLIFE workout facility, on-campus exercise classes, and more.”
