During Ogeechee Technical College’s annual Fall Professional Development Day, Faculty and Staff at OTC had the opportunity to sign one of the last beams that will be installed in the Georgia Training Center for Industrial Operations (GTCIO).
The center slated to open in Fall 2026, is strategically located at the corner of A.J. Riggs Road and Highway 301 South. Once operational, the college’s noncredit training capacity will increase to 460,000 hours annually — tripling the college’s current output.
“The beam signing marks a key milestone in the completion of the new Georgia Training Center for Industrial Operations. Unique within the Technical College System of Georgia, the facility will deliver state-of-the-art training in industrial systems and advanced automation, including robotics. We look forward to opening this new resource to the region next fall,” said VP for Economic Development, Jan Moore.
Those who were in attendance for the ceremony were OTC Faculty and Staff, TCSG Commissioner Greg Dozier, as well as representatives from Praxis3, ICB, LS3P, Buro Happold, and GSFIC. The beam, painted white, will be installed in the ceiling of the GTCIO, but remain visible from inside of the building.
