Adult Education students at Ogeechee Technical College recently participated in an Integrated Education and Training (IET) opportunity. Samantha Smith, Dean for Adult Education, said, “This in-class instruction will not only prepare them to take the GED, but will also provide skills specific for successful completion of Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) and Commercial Truck Driving (CTD) courses.” According to Dean Smith, the coursework will include soft skills and other workforce training. Students who qualify for IET will enroll in CNA or CTD classes while completing the requirements for the Adult Education program. "IET is a great way to expose students to career opportunities and allows the students to obtain two credentials at once," said Dean Smith. "Our goal is prepare students for college and careers. This additional training will allow them to be successful students and valuable employees."
